Personal notes about tropical abundance and warmhearted people

Even after all these years of living in this beautiful country, Sri Lanka still takes my breath away over and over again.

Because of that unbelievable abundance of tropical evergreen nature.

Because of the beautiful beaches and impressive mountains.

Because of the marvelous sunsets and the countless waterfalls with their cristalclear water.

Because of the exotic flora and fauna that can be observed here so very well.

And last not least because of its people. With their honest smiles, their extraordinary helpfulness, relaxed nature and happy mood.

And still there is a lot to discover!

"Sri Lanka is spectacular"

In the ‘Lonely Planet travel guide book 2012’ Sri Lanka is named “The Undiscovered Country”, where its people looking full of confidence into the future – after the end of a long civil war in May 2009 and after facing the challenges of the tsunami in December 2004.

“Sri Lanka is spectacular, it’s affordable and it’s still mostly uncrowded. Now is the best time to discover it.”*

I completely agree to this statement and invite you, to embark on an exciting discovery trip in Sri Lanka, the ‘Pearl of the Indian Ocean’.

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”
